President - merry hansen
Merry lives in one of the oldest homes in Lakewood. Her husband's family have occupied the house for over 100 years! Merry LOVES dogs, and LOVES to craft. She stays busy all day working full time, listening and dancing around the house to Classic Rock, and making messes with glue, glitter, paper, paint, and other craft supplies. No TV for Merry! Merry's top issues in the 'hood are crime, overcrowding with developments, and homelessness. Hopes and goals include working with the City of Lakewood to create an ordinance that says new houses must be conducive to the small town feel of the neighborhood; no fancy, modern looking houses. And that is the issue she'd like to work on. As a forever advocate, Merry has years of experience approaching and speaking with city councils in Jefferson County to advocate for policy change. She has chaired organizations and rallied the masses. And she’s good at moderating meetings and keeping them on track with the agenda. Merry has served on the Eiber Neighborhood Association Board of Directors for over 10 years.

My name is Shalese ”Lese” Sanchez, I’m the vice president of the Eiber Association and recently was appointed by The Board of Education as a member to the District Accountability Committee (DAC) with their vote in June. I’m a mother of 2, very involved in the classrooms and the neighborhood. I am the winner of the 2023 FRAN YEHLE GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARD. When I'm not with my children, I’m doing donation work on the Neighbors helping neighbors group I started on next door. Com. We love helping the neighborhood, we have Valentine’s for Seniors day, Easter Bunny bags, we helped gather clothing for LHS 2023 prom, Senior birthday bags and recently started a school supply drive for those students in need. The group was able to help over 30 kids/teens with Christmas presents this last year. Recently started a school supply drive, as a group we have been able to help 30 families.

secretary - lisa rukstales
Greetings from Estes Street where I fell in love with the big lots and bigger trees! I've lived in Colorado for 33 years, starting in Longmont and then down closer to the Federal Center where I worked as a geologist until my retirement. I'm on house #6 in Colorado so have experienced many different types of neighborhoods and commutes. I purposefully chose the Eiber neighborhood because I didn't want a "tract house". I wanted something unique and my 1941
Tudor style house "with lots of potential" filled the bill. I'm able to have a large garden and green space; I share the land with the local critters. A bonus is that my neighborhood is often 10°F cooler than the surrounding paved developments. I am new to the ENA Board and my goal is to help my neighborhood feel like a small community and keep an eye on the city council and how they are representing the citizens of Lakewood.
