Lakewood's Code Enforcement Website Improved

Check out the site's improvements here. Get answers to common concerns about the City's Code. It is linked to City ordinances for easy access. Property owners can also find out their land's zone district by clicking on "What's My Property Zoned?" Online reporting is offered for residents who would like Code Enforcement to check on possible violations.

Crime Stats On Line

The Lakewood Police Department has a new service for employees and the public. Our crime stats can now be viewed on www.CrimeReports.com, which interfaces with Google maps.  On their home page you will see a map of the United States. Drag your cursor over the state of Colorado and you will see the agencies that participate. Select Lakewood and you will be transported to a map of our city. The map will be populated with different types of crimes.

Some 467 agencies nationwide now participate in the service. On the site, you may select the time period for which you are interested. The default will show the past 14 days.

You may also select the types of crime to be displayed. Keep in mind that not every report will be displayed. As a rule most major crimes are the ones you will see.

A chronological list of the crimes appears on the left side of the screen. If you select a crime form there, it will indicate on the map which crime and the location you have chosen. Conversely if you click on one of the symbols displayed on the map, it shows basic information about the crime including the date of occurrence, the CR number, classification and the hundred block. Also, at the top of the page you can select “analytics” and view different trends for each type of crime. Again you must first select “ Lakewood” from the drop down menu and also a time period in this case “daily, weekly or monthly.”  Please take time to use the “View Demo” option on the bottom of the home page.
