The US 6/Wadsworth Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is pleased to announce that the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has approved construction of proposed improvements to the US 6/Wadsworth Boulevard interchange and to Wadsworth Boulevard between 4th and 14th Avenues. FHWA’s decision is documented in the US 6/Wadsworth Boulevard Finding of No Significant Impact, which can be reviewed online at www.US6Wadsworth.com or in hard copy at the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Region 6 Headquarters, 2000 S Holly St, Denver, Colorado 80222.

The publication of the Finding of No Significant Impact marks the end of the study. The next step in the project will be final engineering design, which typically takes 12 to 18 months to complete. CDOT does not currently have a construction schedule because of insufficient construction funds. Therefore, construction is likely to be delayed beyond initial projections or implemented in phases as funding becomes available. The US 6/ Wadsworth project remains a high priority for the region and the state, and CDOT continues to work to secure full funding. Keep up to date with CDOT's monthly newsletter.
